This puts it all in such a different perspective--yay for my calloused hands and feet.Hesses Madhousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17988796143736645049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9053173987577933207.post-35465564475255059462011-03-21T16:37:04.693-07:002011-03-21T16:37:04.693-07:00I work with a lot of the elderly. Those things they had done are still holding strong but the skin and other parts around it are falling apart. The tattoos they have on their body sometimes bring them much embarrassment and they do not want to talk about it. The tattoos they received while in war were badges of heroism to some of them. Its always been interesting to me the way we each view our bodies and how we can portray that onto our children. If you are always on a diet and your kids see that, they grow up with maybe thinking their bodies will never be skinny enough. I personally have a problem with passing on your body image problems to your children. Its one thing to let them know how to eat and be healthy but dieting at such a young age creates body image problems at a young age. I see also grown women in their 80's and 90's who had body image problems all their lives and they end up wasting away at that age because they still think they are too fat. I think that if we see ourselves truly they way the lord sees us that we will want to he healthy and happy the way he would have us be.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
